Do you believe that first impressions are lasting impressions? Do we have only one opportunity to make a first impression?

One might argue these are reasons to always look and act your best for we never know when the next opportunity will present itself. Warren Steury is a prime example of the importance of that initial impression. When you meet him it is an impressive moment. He commands a certain manner to those in his presence.

If we are to fulfill the promise of masonry we must attract young men like Warren Steury.

Warren Steury is a product of the public education system of Union County, Charlotte, North Carolina. After graduating high school he attended Appalachian State University with an interest in business administration. It developed it was time well spent for he has a record of success in business at a very young age.

He has gone from lawn mowing and car detailing in high school to a thriving automotive brokerage company he started from scratch, Quality Car Buyers, LLC, an enterprise with 3 employees, a feat worthy of mention.

His masonic journey began at age 20 with Snow Lodge #363 in Boone, North Carolina.

Recently he became a member of West Nashville Phoenix Lodge #131 while retaining his membership in North Carolina. At the young age of 22 years he joined the Scottish Rite. After being the active candidate in the 16th° he has joined the cast for that degree.

Within one year his activities in the Nashville Valley are remarkable. To mention a few, he is involved with the Knights of St. Andrew where he conceived the idea for the KSA Media Team to produce a number of videos for the Valley. He is active in the Scottish Rite Luncheon Club where he has presented the program of the day several times.

He conceived and developed the idea for the Master Craftsman Study Club with member Steve Martin. He has become an active member of the Development Committee, the Mentoring Committee, and the KSA Media Committee. Perhaps the project that offers the most promise, he has conceived the idea and spent many hours developing the Journey Passport Program that is being introduced at the May 2021 Reunion. It is a tool that will help get the membership involved. It is believed that this program may prove to have acceptance and application throughout the Southern Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite.

While we must retain the participation of older members, the constant influx of young men with new ideas and energy is a necessity if we are to thrive. Our fraternity should evolve with society as a whole as we adhere to our core principles.

As long as we can attract young men the caliber of Warren Steury, our future remains bright. His energy, his creativity, and his love of the craft make him an asset to the Valley of Nashville. We are proud of him and fortunate to have his participation.
