Ryan Turbeville

Ryan Turbeville, 32°KCCH

Ryan Turbeville is a Nashville native. He grew up in Joelton and West Nashville and graduated from Nashville Christian High School in 2005. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2009 with a Bachelor‘s Degree in Finance and Political Science. He was a member of the Lambda Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity where he served as vice president for two years. As Rush Chairman he set the nationwide fraternity record for the largest class ever recruited at that time.

Ryan is currently the Director of Commercial Real Estate for the Ashton Real Estate Group of RE/MAX Advantage, the number one real estate team in Tennessee and the number one RE/MAX team in the world. He specializes in urban commercial real estate, infill development, investments, zoning and land use policy, new construction and renovations, and sell-side marketing. He practices in both residential and commercial real estate.

Before entering the real estate world, Ryan was a political operative where he worked on candidate and issues-based campaigns. He served as a campaign manager on the winning side of the historic 2010 State House elections in Tennessee. He was a policy analyst, fundraiser, and lobbyist for a free market think tank, the Beacon Center of Tennessee. It was during this time he honed his negotiation, public relations, research, and marketing skills, and coauthored several publications. Ryan was able to work on many historic legislative victories that are still in place today.

After leaving politics he was a growth strategist for Populr.me, the first Nashville-based tech startup company to ever be accepted into the 500 Startups Accelerator Program. In 2014 Ryan was elected to the Board of Directors of the Nashville City Club, the youngest board member in its history. He has served as Secretary since 2015.

Ryan became a Master Mason in 2009 in West Nashville Phoenix Lodge #131. He served as Worshipful Master in 2013 and is currently serving as Worshipful Master of West Nashville Phoenix Lodge #131. He joined the Nashville Valley of the Scottish Rite in 2012 and was selected as a Knight Commander of the Court of Honor in 2019. He is a member of the 15th, 16th, 18th, 29th, 31st, and 32nd degree casts and communicates the 22nd degree. He is a member of the Development Committee and an officer in the Lodge of Perfection.

Most recently, he was instrumental in the development and startup process for a Masonic website for West Nashville Phoenix Lodge #131. It is considered to be a resounding success and expected to generate new members to Masonry. Each new Mason is a candidate for the Scottish Rite.

Ryan lives and works in the digital world. Masonry, with all of its time-honored values, must adapt and evolve to keep a never-ending stream of new members, lest we become obsolete and a relic of the past. Ryan Turbeville is an example of the Scottish Rite member to help us project into the future. Let us be thankful that Masonry offers the environment to attract men such as Ryan. We are fortunate to have him as a member.
