On May 16, 2024 the Nashville Valley hosted a special event exhibiting the 28th Degree, The Knight of The Sun, or Prince Adept, in its original form as Brother Albert Pike published it in the Liturgy of the Kadosh Degrees.
This was the very first time the 28th degree had ever been experienced in full in the Valley of Nashville.
Albert Pike’s Morals and Dogma is a rich text covering the degrees of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. There is one degree in particular that Pike decided to spend a full 220 pages writing on, taking a quarter of the entire book to discuss… and that degree is the 28th Degree, or the “Knight of The Sun, or Prince Adept”.
This degree is said by many to be the most philosophically rich and symbolically deep degree contained within the Rite. Pike’s prized placement of it in his esteemed work invites every Scottish Rite Mason to knock on its door and peer further into the mysteries it holds.
